Srinagar, March 13, 2025 – The National Institute of Technology Srinagar has earned a significant accolade by securing a position among the top 1500 institutions worldwide in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025. The rankings, unveiled on March 12, 2025, place NIT Srinagar in the 1201-1500 band overall and the 1001-1250 band in the Engineering category, marking a notable achievement for the institute.
The THE World University Rankings, widely regarded as a benchmark for global academic excellence, evaluated over 2,673 institutions this year using its updated WUR 3.0 methodology. This framework assesses universities across 18 performance indicators, including teaching, research, industry collaboration, and international engagement. NIT Srinagar posted a score of 26.1 in Teaching, 12.8 in Research Environment, 43 in Research Quality, 18.4 in Industry Engagement, and 25.8 in International Outlook, reflecting a balanced performance across key areas.
Prof. Binod Kanaujia, Director of NIT Srinagar, hailed the ranking as a testament to the institute’s unwavering dedication to academic and research advancement. “This recognition is the result of the collective efforts of our faculty, students, and staff,” he said in a statement. “It motivates us to further elevate our standards and contribute meaningfully to global education and innovation.”
