NEP 2020 & The Role of Teachers in AI Age | LG Manoj Sinha’s Teachers’ Day Message in J&K कबीर दास: गुरू गोविन्द दोऊ खड़े, काके लागूं पांय। बलिहारी गुरू अपने गोविन्द दियो बताय।। Every year we celebrate Teacher’s Day. on September 5 This year, a big concern has come to the fore amidst the rapid global changes taking place at a rapid pace, especially looking at the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the natural disasters increasing due to it. The situation that has arisen in Jammu and Kashmir in the last ten days has disturbed everyone, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha addressing Teachers and students in SKICC on Teachers’ Day. India’s honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Indian Government are fully committed to ensure that the common man’s life is reorganised and people can be rehabilitated in a proper manner, LG conveyed. Today, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, I would like to request all the teachers and the principals to take the responsibility on themselves to take these ideas forward to give a new shape to the future of humanity and make climate change an essential subject in the classroom and fieldwork and it should definitely be taught, LG stated. It is my suggestion that this should be arranged at the government level. AI tools operate on patterns and numbers while teachers have both depth and experience of a particular subject..we need to understand this basic difference, LG pointed out. Explaining this further he added, AI tools rely on coding while teachers have natural instincts. Comparing teachers and AI is not just about experience versus data. Rather, it is based on data in the classroom and real-world behaviour and experience, information and wisdom. AI tools cannot provide children with lively educational experiences. Only teachers and educators can provide this. It is beyond the power of AI tools. AI tools can just about give enough information to the students to be able to pass the exam through patterns and figures, but only a teacher in the classroom can understand the interest, passion and emotion of each student. Only teachers can create human sensitivity in these children. There is a unique relationship between teacher and student which is even greater than the relationship with parents and God. AI tools can give information to a student but cannot motivate or inspire him. This work can only be done by a Guru, a teacher. Speaking about the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, LG said, I believe this is the most unique gift of this century to the new generation. The whole world is now talking about knowledge economy. When the world did not know about knowledge economy then our ancestors knew about knowledge economy better than the world. And there is a possibility that NEP can once again give India the top position in the world, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha voiced his motivational thoughts in his address on Teachers’ Day.
