Srinagar, July 7, 2025 – The National Traders Conclave 2025 held at the prestigious Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar brought together key national leaders, business stakeholders, and policymakers to discuss trade-led economic growth in Jammu & Kashmir.
Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal and Cabinet Minister Satish Sharma jointly presided over the event. The conclave focused on unlocking the region’s economic potential, boosting local entrepreneurship, and fostering a robust business ecosystem in the Union Territory.
Addressing a packed audience of traders, entrepreneurs, and youth, the ministers emphasized the importance of ‘Vocal for Local’ as a critical pillar of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). Minister Goyal encouraged the trading community to adopt innovation, digitization, and sustainability as pathways to scale and global relevance. He reiterated the Centre’s commitment to ease of doing business and creating investment-friendly policies tailored for Jammu & Kashmir.
Minister Satish Sharma spoke on the role of local enterprises, MSMEs, and artisans in shaping a new economic narrative for the region. He highlighted the support being extended through central government schemes, infrastructure upgrades, and digital market access to enable inclusive and sustainable growth.
Sessions at the conclave explored investment in tourism-linked trade, skill development, credit for small traders, and modern logistics infrastructure to support regional commerce.
The event also served as a networking platform for startups, industry bodies, and traditional traders, positioning J&K as a growing hub for economic innovation and local enterprise.
