SRINAGAR, JULY 29: A delegation of distinguished national-level archers—Hrithik Sharma, Shubham Sharma, and Amit Thakur—met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today in Srinagar. The delegation was led by Abhilasha Chaudhary, Coach of the National Archery Team.
During the meeting, the athletes shared their experiences, aspirations, and concerns regarding the development of archery as a professional sport in Jammu and Kashmir. They discussed ways to expand training infrastructure, increase access to modern archery equipment, and establish talent scouting mechanisms in schools and colleges.
LG Manoj Sinha praised the archers for their dedication and assured them of every possible support from the UT administration. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing enhanced facilities and professional guidance to athletes in Olympic sports, including archery.
“Archery is not just a sport but a discipline that reflects focus and resilience. J&K has immense potential, and we are working to ensure our youth shine at national and international platforms,” the LG said.
Coach Abhilasha Chaudhary also highlighted the dedication of young archers from the region and stressed the importance of long-term training programs and exposure trips to help them compete at the highest level.
The interaction underlines the UT administration’s emphasis on building a strong sports ecosystem and empowering young talent through structured support and encouragement.
