Srinagar, March 25, 2025 – Separatism in Kashmir is becoming a thing of the past, thanks to the unifying policies of the Modi government, Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared . In a significant development, two organisations linked to the Hurriyat – the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement and the Democratic Political Movement – have announced their decision to sever all ties with separatism, marking a turning point in the region’s history.
Amit Shah hailed this move as a “big victory” for Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of building a developed, peaceful, and unified Bharat. “The unifying policies of the Modi government have tossed separatism out of Jammu and Kashmir.
This development comes amid the Modi government’s broader push to integrate Jammu and Kashmir fully into India, following the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. The Centre has also recently banned two other Hurriyat-linked groups for their alleged anti-national activities, signaling a firm stance against forces disrupting peace and unity in the region.
The severing of ties by these Hurriyat organisations has been celebrated as a testament to the success of policies aimed at fostering development and stability in Kashmir. Shah emphasised that separatism, once a persistent challenge, is now history, paving the way for a new era of peace and progress under Modi’s leadership.
Analysts see this as a crucial step in reshaping Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape, aligning with the government’s goal of a unified Bharat free from division and conflict.
