BARAMULLA, July 22: In a major push toward youth empowerment and self-employment, the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) Baramulla, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, approved 232 new cases under the flagship Mission YUVA initiative.
The approval marks a significant milestone in the district’s efforts to support aspiring youth through financial assistance, capacity building, and entrepreneurship development. The Skill-Based Development Unit (SBDU) has been instrumental in identifying and verifying cases at the grassroots level.
DC Emphasises Timely Support and Fast-Tracking of Applications
During the review meeting, DC Baramulla Minga Sherpa lauded the efforts of the SBDU team and urged them to maintain the current pace of case verification and follow-up. He assured that all necessary administrative and logistical support would be extended to ensure timely processing, handholding of applicants, and efficient fund disbursement.
“Mission YUVA is a transformative step for the youth of Baramulla. We must ensure that every eligible applicant receives timely assistance to kickstart their entrepreneurial journey,” the DC stated.
He further directed concerned officers to fast-track Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and facilitate seamless coordination among implementing agencies for effective execution of the scheme.
Focus on Institutional Strengthening and Guidelines Compliance
Stressing the importance of strong institutional mechanisms, the Deputy Commissioner instructed for the immediate engagement of SBDU and BHD (Block-Level Handholding Desk) members in line with the detailed guidelines issued by the Director Employment-cum-Mission Director, Mission YUVA.
This step is expected to enhance the on-ground implementation, monitoring, and post-approval support structure to ensure that beneficiaries can sustain their ventures.
