Srinagar, Sept 15: A mega wellness and blood donation camp was organized at Raj Bagh, Srinagar, jointly by SKIMS, the J&K Sports Council, and Team Red. The initiative aimed to promote health awareness, wellness practices, and voluntary blood donation among the local population.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from volunteers, athletes, and members of the civil society. Medical professionals from SKIMS Srinagar conducted free health check-ups, diagnostic tests, and awareness sessions on preventive healthcare. A large number of youth and sports enthusiasts came forward to donate blood, supporting the cause of saving lives.
The event was attended by several prominent dignitaries, including Minister Sakina Itoo, Advisor to LG Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Ehsan Pardesi, and Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gul, who lauded the joint efforts of the organisers. They highlighted the importance of blood donation, fitness, and mental well-being, particularly for the younger generation.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders stressed that such initiatives not only create awareness about healthcare but also strengthen the spirit of community service and social responsibility.
