Ganderbal, February 27,2026 -Mission Director, Mission YUVA, Harvinder Singh, along with the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore, today conducted a joint review meeting to assess the progress and implementation status of Mission YUVA in Ganderbal.
During the meeting, a detailed presentation was made on the achievements and progress recorded under Mission YUVA in the district so far. The Assistant Director Employment briefed the meeting on key indicators, including the number of applications received, verified, and approved by District Level Implementation Committees (DLICs), as well as cases sanctioned and disbursed. The status of units completed to date was also shared.
The Mission Director emphasised the critical role of capacity-building and training in nurturing successful entrepreneurs. He sought comprehensive details regarding entrepreneurship training programmes conducted over the past few months and stressed the need to strengthen skill-based support mechanisms.
Highlighting district-specific economic potential, the MD urged officials to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to establish units aligned with the district’s One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. He also reviewed progress under the Udyam Jagriti programme and directed the Assistant Director Employment to ensure 100 percent coverage of students enrolled in degree colleges and polytechnic institutions.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal stated that Mission YUVA has created significant opportunities for youth self-employment across the district. He stressed the importance of timely processing of applications and effective handholding of beneficiaries to ensure smooth establishment and long-term sustainability of units. He further underlined the need for close coordination among line departments and banking institutions for the effective execution of the scheme.
Later, the Mission Director interacted with members of the Sub-Block Development Units (SBDU) and Block Handholding Teams (BHD), encouraging them to work with commitment and dedication to achieve the overarching objectives of entrepreneurship promotion and youth self-employment under Mission YUVA.
The review meeting reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to strengthen youth-led entrepreneurship and accelerate economic opportunities in Ganderbal district through focused implementation of Mission YUVA.
