Srinagar, November 3 , 2025: The second day of the Kashmir World Film Festival (KWFF) continued to draw film enthusiasts, students, and professionals as a series of masterclasses and film screenings captivated audiences at the Tagore Hall, Srinagar.
The festival, which celebrates the art of cinema and storytelling, witnessed a vibrant turnout on Day 2, with discussions focusing on independent filmmaking, cinematography, and creative direction. The masterclass sessions featured well-known filmmakers, actors, and technicians who shared their insights with budding talents from across Jammu and Kashmir.
Festival Director Musa Syeed expressed delight over the overwhelming response, saying that KWFF has become a platform for cultural exchange and cinematic learning. “This festival is about nurturing new voices and celebrating the storytelling spirit of Kashmir. The masterclasses are empowering young filmmakers with the tools and confidence to tell their own stories,” he said.
The day’s lineup included screenings of award-winning short films, documentaries, and feature films from India and abroad. Many of the films showcased local narratives rooted in Kashmiri culture, tradition, and resilience, highlighting the growing creative energy in the region.
Participants said the masterclasses provided invaluable exposure to global filmmaking techniques and trends. “It’s inspiring to meet industry professionals who have worked on international projects. These interactions help us dream bigger and learn from the best,” said a student of media studies attending the session.
The Kashmir World Film Festival 2025 aims to bring world cinema to the Valley while promoting local filmmakers on national and international platforms. The festival’s theme this year — “Cinema for Peace and Harmony” — underscores the power of films in fostering dialogue, creativity, and unity.
With more screenings, workshops, and panel discussions lined up in the coming days, KWFF continues to reinforce Srinagar’s growing reputation as a hub for art, culture, and cinematic excellence.
