Katra, January 1,2026-On the first day of 2026, the Holy Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra witnessed a large influx of devotees from across the country, all seeking the blessings of the revered Goddess to mark the beginning of the New Year.
Pilgrims from different states were seen undertaking the yatra with deep faith and enthusiasm, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere in the Trikuta hills. Despite the heavy rush, the pilgrimage proceeded smoothly due to the comprehensive arrangements made by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB).
Officials said that elaborate measures were put in place to ensure the safety and comfort of devotees. These included enhanced security deployment, effective crowd management systems, regulated entry, and the availability of medical facilities along the yatra route and at the Bhawan.
The Shrine Board also ensured uninterrupted services such as sanitation, drinking water, battery-operated vehicles, and emergency response teams to facilitate a hassle-free darshan experience for pilgrims.
The large turnout on the first day of the year reflects the enduring faith of devotees and the improved management of pilgrimage infrastructure in the region. The smooth conduct of the yatra also highlights the administration’s commitment to ensuring a safe and spiritually fulfilling experience for all visitors.
