Mahakumbh is a source of profound wisdom and an opportunity for spiritual awakening : J&K LG Manoj Sinha

Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha addressed the Shrimad Bhagwat Samagam at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, an event graced by Acharya Mahamandleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri Ji Maharaj and attended by thousands of devotees and spiritual leaders. In his address, the Lieutenant Governor called on spiritual thinkers, social leaders, and influencers to work collectively for the unity of mind and heart, emphasizing the importance of contributing to nation-building. “Our prime objective should be to promote the idea of unity for all mankind,” he said, underscoring the relevance of spiritual unity in today’s world.

Describing Mahakumbh as a symbolic confluence of spirituality, education, experience, and enlightenment, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted its representation of India’s rich spiritual heritage, culture, and traditions. “Mahakumbh is not just a religious gathering; it is a source of profound wisdom and an opportunity for spiritual awakening. It is where we find the guiding light of great saints, illuminating the path of virtuous living,” LG Sinha stated. He further noted that the Samagam serves as a gateway to higher consciousness, bringing together distinguished personalities who lead by example in various sectors of society.

Reflecting on the vision of India’s ancient saints, philosophers, and teachers, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized their commitment to selfless service, brotherhood, equality, and universal values. “Their lives and teachings have always inspired people to follow the righteous path, awakening society to fulfill its duties and contribute to building a developed and harmonious world,” he said. He also called for a mission-mode campaign to preserve and promote this invaluable heritage, stressing the need to safeguard and nurture India’s ancient civilizational legacy.

The Lieutenant Governor further urged the use of modern communication tools, including social media, to spread research, books, and teachings on meditation and yoga, ensuring that India’s spiritual and cultural wisdom reaches every corner of the world. “By harnessing the power of modern media, we can share our ancient practices of yoga, meditation, and self-discipline globally, fostering a sense of unity and peace,” he added.

In his address, LG Sinha outlined the foundational principles of cultural and spiritual institutions, focusing on the three pillars: Education, Experience, and Enlightenment. “Empowering society through a system built on these principles will help uplift every section without discrimination, emphasizing character building and social justice,” he said. This approach, he explained, will foster a society with a strong sense of self-respect, equality, and pride.

Concluding his speech, the Lieutenant Governor called upon the global devotees gathered at the Mahakumbh to serve as ambassadors of India’s glorious cultural and spiritual legacy. “Let each of you carry forward the message of unity, peace, and harmony as we work together toward realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India),” he said. The address was a clarion call for renewed efforts in promoting the country’s ancient values while leveraging modern tools for the upliftment of society.
