Doda, April 18, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited an exhibition stall set up by the School Education Department in Doda on April 17, 2025, during his trip to the district for the inauguration of a week-long Mega Surgical Camp. The visit highlighted his keen interest in the implementation of the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy programme, a key initiative under the National Education Policy 2020 aimed at ensuring foundational skills for young learners.
At the SED stall, Sinha engaged with educators and officials, reviewing the progress of the FLN programme, which focuses on enhancing reading, writing, and mathematical skills among students in Classes 1 to 3. He praised the department’s efforts in deploying innovative teaching methods, including play-based learning and digital tools, to achieve universal foundational literacy and numeracy by 2025. The Lieutenant Governor emphasized the programme’s role in strengthening J&K’s education system, aligning with the administration’s vision of holistic development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance.
Sinha’s visit to Doda also included the launch of the Mega Surgical Camp, organized by Rotary International in collaboration with the district administrations of Doda and Kishtwar and the Health & Medical Education Department. The camp, held at three locations—Associated Hospital of GMC Doda, District Hospital Kishtwar, and SDH Bhaderwah—aims to benefit over 2,000 patients with super-specialty and general surgeries. During the inauguration, Sinha underscored that “Health for All” remains a top priority, with significant investments in healthcare infrastructure across the Union Territory.
The Lieutenant Governor also inspected stalls by other line departments, interacted with beneficiaries, and directed the creation of a Divyangjan database to ensure access to future camps. His engagement with the SED stall and focus on education reflect J&K’s commitment to empowering youth through quality education and skill development.
