Kashmir , July 29, 2025– Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Northern Command, visited the General Area Dachigam in Kashmir to compliment and felicitate Indian Army troops for their exceptional performance during Operation Mahadev in Lidwas on July 28, 2025.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma praised the troops for their resilient action, unwavering professionalism, and quick execution of a high-risk operation that led to the neutralization of three hardcore terrorists. He emphasized that the successful outcome of the operation underscores the Indian Army’s relentless commitment to maintaining peace and security in the Kashmir Valley.
Operation Mahadev, executed with precision and coordination, marks a significant blow to terror outfits operating in the region. Security sources confirmed that the terrorists eliminated were linked to foreign-backed networks and were involved in planning major attacks in the area.
The GOC-in-C commended the field units for their swift response, operational excellence, and seamless coordination. He also interacted with troops on the ground, encouraging them to stay mission-focused while maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct and vigilance.
