Jammu, December 13:Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha interacted with a youth delegation from Tamil Nadu at Raj Bhawan, who are visiting Jammu and Kashmir as part of the Yuva Sangam initiative under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme. The delegation is on a five-day visit to the Union Territory to foster cultural exchange and strengthen the bond between youth from different regions of India.
Welcoming the delegation, the Lieutenant Governor expressed his appreciation for their enthusiasm and shared the importance of the Yuva Sangam initiative, which aims to promote unity in diversity by facilitating meaningful interactions, cultural exchange, and knowledge sharing among the youth of different States and Union Territories. “Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir share an eternal connection, deeply rooted in our rich and inspiring history. Both regions have contributed to shaping the destiny of our great nation,” he remarked.
The Lieutenant Governor also acknowledged the contributions of the Yuva Sangam initiative by the Ministry of Education, aimed at strengthening people-to-people connections across the country. “I am truly grateful to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for unlocking the power of India’s diversity with the spirit of oneness,” he added.
In his address, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the growing social consciousness among the youth of India, emphasising that their dreams extend beyond personal aspirations to the larger goal of national development. “The social consciousness of our youth is sharp, and they have big dreams not just for themselves, but for the progress of this great nation,” said LG Sinha.
He further spoke about the policies and programmes launched over the past decade to create an enabling environment for the youth to realise their dreams. “Our youth are not just thinking about the future; they are actively working towards constructive change for a prosperous, equal, and just society,” he noted, reflecting on the increasing role of youth in shaping a positive future.
Jammu & Kashmir is paired with Tamil Nadu under the Yuva Sangam initiative, fostering a spirit of unity in diversity and creating opportunities for youth from both regions to learn from one another’s cultures, experiences, and insights.
