Srinagar, July 6, 2025-On the solemn occasion of Youm-e-Ashura, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha paid heartfelt tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions, urging the younger generation to embrace their timeless message of selfless service and compassion. In a statement shared LG Manoj Sinha emphasised the enduring relevance of Hazrat Imam Hussain’s life and virtues, calling on youth to walk the righteous path he exemplified.
Joining the Zuljinah Procession
LG Manoj Sinha participated in the Zuljinah procession in Srinagar’s Botakadal area, joining thousands of mourners to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions at the Battle of Karbala. The procession, a significant observance of the 10th day of Muharram, saw men, women, and children expressing grief through chest-beating and noha recitations. Starting at Botakadal and concluding at Zadibal Imambargah, the event was supported by robust security and meticulous arrangements to ensure peace.
A Call to Uphold Justice and Compassion
Reflecting on the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), LG Sinha highlighted his teachings of courage, justice, and human dignity. “Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) gave the message of selfless service and guided humanity to care for those who are less fortunate,” he stated. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from these values to foster a society rooted in equality, peace, and compassion. The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the martyrs of Karbala remain a beacon for righteousness and reform, encouraging efforts toward a just and equitable world.
