Bandipora, May 25,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday asserted that the administration will take decisive and uncompromising action against drug smugglers and those involved in the narcotics trade in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking during the anti-drug padyatra in Bandipora under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the Lieutenant Governor said the Union Territory is committed to eliminating the menace of drugs and protecting the younger generation from substance abuse and narco-terrorism.
Drawing a firm line against drug trafficking networks, the LG stated that strict measures would continue against smugglers and individuals involved in spreading narcotics in society. He emphasised that the administration is determined to free Jammu and Kashmir from the growing threat of drug abuse.
The Lieutenant Governor also called for collective public participation in the fight against drugs and urged families, educational institutions, civil society groups, and law enforcement agencies to work together to safeguard the future of the youth.
The anti-drug padyatra witnessed massive participation from students, youth, volunteers, and residents despite heavy rainfall, reflecting strong public support for the campaign against narcotics in the Union Territory.
Officials said the ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan aims to strengthen awareness, encourage rehabilitation, and intensify enforcement efforts to build a safer and drug-free society across Jammu and Kashmir.
