Jammu, July 2, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the border village of Changiya in Arnia, Jammu, today to pay obeisance at the sacred Daati Maa Dev Sthan, a revered shrine associated with the Mahajan Phagetra Biradari. The visit underscored the GoI’s commitment to the inclusive development of border villages and the promotion of religious tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.During his visit, LG Sinha prayed for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the GoI’s dedication to uplifting border areas through initiatives like the Vibrant Village Programme. Responding to local demands, he assured that appropriate steps would be taken to bring Daati Maa Dev Sthan onto the religious tourism map, aiming to enhance its visibility and attract devotees from across the country. “The GoI is committed to the inclusive development of border villages. Appropriate steps will be taken to bring the sacred Daati Maa Dev Sthan on the religious tourism map,” Sinha stated, as reported by multiple sources.

The Lieutenant Governor also praised the Akhil Bharatiya Mahajan Phagetra Biradari for their significant contributions to the development of the shrine. The event saw the presence of prominent figures, including Rajeev Kumar, Member of Legislative Assembly from Bishnah; Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Rajesh Gupta, President of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh; and Bharat Choudhary, President of the Akhil Bharatiya Mahajan Phagetra Biradari, along with other community leaders and citizens. The visit comes at a time when Jammu and Kashmir are under heightened security due to recent incidents, including a terrorist attack in Pahalgam and ongoing counter-infiltration operations in Rajouri. Despite these challenges, the GoI’s focus on promoting religious tourism aims to bolster local economies and foster cultural preservation in border areas like Changiya. The Vibrant Village Programme, highlighted during the visit, is a key initiative to improve infrastructure and economic opportunities in such regions, aligning with the broader goal of inclusive development. This move is expected to complement other tourism initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir, such as the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, which Sinha flagged off earlier the same day, marking a significant moment for regional pilgrimage and tourism.
