Srinagar, November 1,2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the newly developed Chrysanthemum Theme Garden at the Botanical Garden in Srinagar, a vibrant addition to Jammu and Kashmir’s floricultural landscape.
Spanning over 100 kanals, the Chrysanthemum Theme Garden — the first of its kind in the Union Territory — has been developed by the Department of Floriculture, Gardens & Parks. The garden, adorned with a wide variety of chrysanthemum blooms, is set to become a major autumnal floral attraction for both locals and tourists visiting the Valley.
The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the LG; Shri Zubair Ahmad, Commissioner/Secretary, Department of Floriculture, Parks and Gardens; Shri Akshay Labroo, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar; and other senior officials.
The LG commended the Department of Floriculture for its efforts in creating aesthetically designed public spaces that enhance the beauty of Srinagar and promote eco-tourism. He said such initiatives not only add to the city’s charm but also provide livelihood opportunities through tourism-related activities.
Officials from the Floriculture Department briefed the Lieutenant Governor about the garden’s design, variety of chrysanthemum species, and ongoing plans to develop it as a seasonal tourist attraction.
