Srinagar, July 20,2026 Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday reviewed the impact of heavy rainfall, flash floods, and landslides across Jammu & Kashmir by speaking with senior officials and assessing the ongoing rescue and relief operations.
Expressing grief over the loss of two lives in Doda, the Lieutenant Governor conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and assured all possible assistance to those affected by the adverse weather conditions.
The Lieutenant Governor said that emergency response teams, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Jammu & Kashmir Police, and the Indian Army, have been deployed and remain on high alert in vulnerable areas to ensure timely rescue and assistance.
He informed that key roads in Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, and Udhampur have been reopened, while efforts are continuing to restore water supply in several affected areas. The administration is working round the clock to ensure the restoration of essential services and normalcy.
The Lieutenant Governor also directed field teams to carry out an urgent assessment of damage to residential houses and public infrastructure so that relief and rehabilitation measures can be initiated without delay.
Reiterating the administration’s commitment to public safety, LG Manoj Sinha assured that all departments are coordinating closely to respond effectively to the situation and provide every possible support to affected residents.
