GANDERBAL, June 11, 2025: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha conducted a thorough inspection of the medical and healthcare arrangements at the Baltal Base Camp Hospital today, ensuring robust preparations for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025. The annual pilgrimage, set to commence on July 3 and conclude on August 9, 2025, is expected to draw thousands of devotees to the holy Amarnath Cave via the Baltal and Pahalgam routes.
During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor reviewed the operational readiness of the Baltal Base Camp Hospital, emphasizing the need for comprehensive healthcare services to ensure the well-being of pilgrims. He directed officials to maintain an adequate supply of doctors, paramedical staff, healthcare professionals, medical equipment, medicines, and oxygen cylinders. Additionally, he stressed the importance of round-the-clock healthcare services to address any medical emergencies during the yatra.
Accompanied by Shri Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Shri Jatin Kishore, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, and other senior officials, Shri Sinha interacted with the hospital staff and officials to assess the preparedness of the medical infrastructure. His visit underscores the administration’s commitment to providing a safe and spiritually fulfilling experience for devotees undertaking the sacred journey.
The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, managed by the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB), has seen significant enhancements in infrastructure and security measures. Recent initiatives include the development of Yatri Niwas complexes, disaster management facilities, and a proposed ropeway from Baltal to the Amarnath Cave to ease the pilgrimage. These efforts, combined with foolproof security arrangements by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, CRPF, and CAPFs, aim to ensure a seamless and secure yatra.
