Srinagar, May 25,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the revered Hazratbal Shrine to review preparations for the upcoming auspicious festival of Eid ul-Adha. Senior officials from various line departments accompanied the Lieutenant Governor during the inspection visit.
During the visit, the Lieutenant Governor assessed arrangements related to essential services and directed officers to ensure that all preparations are completed with utmost diligence for the smooth observance of the festival.
LG Manoj Sinha also held a constructive meeting with Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chief Imam of the shrine Mufti Reyaz-ul-Haq, along with senior officers including the DIG, Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, SSP, and SMC Commissioner.
The discussions focused on ensuring uninterrupted water supply, sanitation facilities, electricity, traffic management, and other civic amenities so that devotees can celebrate Eid ul-Adha peacefully and comfortably.
Speaking on the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor said that Eid ul-Adha reminds people of the values of humility, sacrifice, compassion, and charity, inspiring society to work for the greater good of humanity. He emphasized that the administration is committed to ensuring that the celebrations are not only well-organized but also marked with devotion, festive fervour, and spiritual harmony.
Officials from all concerned departments assured the Lieutenant Governor that adequate arrangements are being put in place to facilitate devotees at the shrine and other major religious places across Kashmir during the festival.
