Srinagar, October 27,2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that tourism and talent are together shaping the new identity of Jammu and Kashmir, as he praised renowned singer Sonu Nigam for providing a platform to local artistes during his recent concert in Srinagar.
Speaking at the NDTV Good Times Concert held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), LG Sinha lauded the event for celebrating Kashmir’s artistic and cultural revival. He said that such initiatives not only promote music and creativity but also strengthen the region’s tourism and cultural economy.
“Music and art unite people. Sonu Nigam’s concert has given local artistes the stage they deserve — a chance to share their talent with the world,” the LG remarked.
The concert drew an audience of over 5,000 people, symbolising a new era of peace, progress, and public engagement in the Valley. Several local singers and musicians performed alongside Sonu Nigam, receiving widespread appreciation from the crowd.
LG Sinha emphasised that Jammu and Kashmir is emerging as a hub of tourism, culture, and creativity, with government initiatives aimed at promoting youth engagement, cultural events, and film tourism.
The event reflected the spirit of a New Kashmir, where music, art, and tourism are becoming key drivers of growth and positive change.
