LG Manoj Sinha leads Anti-Drug Padyatra in Shopian

Shopian, May 23,2026- Thousands of people, including women and youth, participated in the Mega Nasha Mukt Padyatra in Shopian led by Manoj Sinha as part of the ongoing campaign against drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir.

The padyatra witnessed massive public participation, with people marching together to spread the message of a drug-free society and encourage the younger generation to stay away from narcotics. Participants carried banners and placards highlighting awareness slogans such as “Say No to Drugs” and “Choose Life, Education and Sports.”

The event was organised under the broader Nasha Mukt J&K initiative aimed at mobilising communities and strengthening public awareness regarding the harmful effects of substance abuse. Students, civil society members, officials, and local residents joined the march in support of the anti-drug movement.

Addressing the gathering, officials stressed the importance of collective efforts in building a #DrugFreeJammuKashmir and promoting positive engagement of youth through education, sports, and social awareness programmes.

The anti-drug padyatra in Shopian is being seen as another major step in the ongoing efforts to make Jammu and Kashmir free from the menace of drugs through public participation and community-driven action.
