SRINAGAR, April 19, 2025 – The serene city of Srinagar hosted the “Noor-e-Sama” Sufi Conference at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre , where Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha delivered a stirring address on the transformative power of Sufism. Organised by Sufi Score Limited in collaboration with the Save Youth Save Future Foundation, the event gathered Sufi scholars, spiritual leaders, and enthusiasts to celebrate Sufism’s enduring legacy as a beacon of peace, love, and harmony.
In his speech, LG Manoj Sinha described Sufism as “a way of life” rooted in “a bond of love with the whole and a loving relationship with God.” He emphasised its role as “the ultimate art of removing divisions and bringing hearts closer,” positioning Sufism as a vital force for fostering unity in a fragmented world. “Sufism is the most powerful force for peace and harmony in society,” he declared, highlighting its focus on inner purification, compassion, and a deep connection with the divine.
The Lieutenant Governor underscored Sufism’s potential to bridge divides across communities and backgrounds, noting its historical significance in promoting coexistence and mutual respect. “The journey on this path has the potential to unite people across backgrounds,” he said, urging attendees to embrace Sufi teachings to counter discord and extremism. He stressed that Sufism’s core principles reject violence and discrimination, making it a universal philosophy for societal awakening.
LG Manoj Sinha called for innovative efforts to engage younger generations with Sufism’s message of love and interconnectedness. He proposed leveraging digital platforms like social media, podcasts, and videos to share Sufi poetry, music, and teachings with youth. Additionally, he advocated for mentorship programs led by Sufi scholars to guide young people toward spiritual and cultural enrichment, ensuring the timeless wisdom of Sufism remains relevant in the modern era.
