Samba, April 22,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday inaugurated a new industrial unit of Eveready Industries India Limited in Samba, underscoring a major step toward strengthening industrial development and employment generation in the Union Territory.
The plant, established with an investment of ₹200 crore, is expected to generate significant local employment, support ancillary industries, and create new opportunities for women and youth. Officials said the unit will play a vital role in boosting the region’s economy and enhancing its manufacturing capabilities.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said that the inauguration of the Eveready plant reflects the changing atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir and the sustained development efforts under the leadership of Narendra Modi. He noted that the Prime Minister’s vision has paved the way for a new era of growth, transforming the dream of a prosperous Jammu and Kashmir into a reality.
He further emphasized that the administration remains committed to attracting investments, promoting industrialization, and ensuring inclusive growth across the Union Territory. The Samba unit is part of broader initiatives aimed at creating a business-friendly environment and expanding economic opportunities for the local population.
