Jammu, December 16,2025-Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Vijay Diwas, unveiled a 108-foot high mast National Flag at Kachrial, a site of historical and patriotic significance, commemorating the brave soldiers who laid down their lives defending India’s sovereignty during the 1965 and 1971 wars.
The LG highlighted that Kachrial is not only historically important but also a holy land of patriotism, where every inch of the area resonates with the memory of martyrs who displayed extraordinary valour and sacrifice. Addressing attendees, he emphasized the enduring spirit of the Indian Armed Forces and the significance of remembering their contributions to national security and integrity.
“May our beloved and victorious Tricolor fly high across the world. Today, we pay homage to the martyrs, soldiers, and officers who made the country proud through their courage and dedication during the 1971 war,” LG Manoj Sinha said.
The event witnessed participation from military officials, local representatives, and citizens, reflecting the collective gratitude of the nation towards the heroes of the 1965 and 1971 wars. The ceremony also aimed to inspire the younger generation to uphold the values of patriotism, courage, and service to the nation.
The installation of the 108-ft National Flag at Kachrial stands as a symbol of India’s sovereignty and serves as a tribute to the martyrs who fought valiantly to protect the country.
