Jammu, July 28: In a heartfelt gesture towards justice and rehabilitation, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today handed over appointment letters to the next of kin of civilians who lost their lives in terror-related incidents in Jammu & Kashmir. The solemn ceremony was held at the Convention Centre in Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, LG Sinha said, “The administration stands firmly with the families of terror victims. This is not just a letter of employment, but a symbol of our commitment to healing, dignity, and a new beginning for those left behind.”
The initiative is part of the J&K Government’s ongoing efforts to support victims of terrorism, providing employment to eligible family members under a special compassionate appointment scheme. Many of the recipients, who once faced uncertainty and trauma, expressed gratitude and hope for a better future.
Senior officials from the General Administration Department, Home Department, and District Administration were present during the distribution ceremony. The LG also interacted with several family members, listening to their stories and reaffirming the government’s resolve to ensure peace, justice, and welfare for all affected citizens.
This compassionate outreach reflects the administration’s commitment to victim rehabilitation, peace-building, and countering the long-term impact of terrorism in the Union Territory.
