Jammu, Feburary 1,2026-Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday hailed the Union Budget 2026–27, describing it as growth-oriented, inclusive, and focused on strengthening India’s economic foundations while ensuring welfare for all sections of society.
In his remarks, the Lieutenant Governor said the Budget reflects the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a developed and self-reliant India, with strong emphasis on infrastructure development, employment generation, social welfare, and fiscal discipline.
LG Sinha noted that enhanced allocations for capital expenditure, infrastructure, MSMEs, startups, and skill development will accelerate economic growth and create new employment opportunities, especially for youth. He also welcomed the continued focus on women empowerment, farmers’ welfare, and rural development, calling it a significant step towards inclusive progress.
The Lieutenant Governor said the Budget’s thrust on digital economy, innovation, and green growth will further strengthen India’s position as a global economic powerhouse. He added that investments in renewable energy and sustainable development will contribute to long-term environmental and economic resilience.
Highlighting its relevance for Jammu and Kashmir, LG Sinha said the Budget will give a major push to development, connectivity, tourism, and entrepreneurship in the Union Territory, helping improve livelihoods and overall quality of life.
“The Budget 2026–27 strikes a fine balance between growth and fiscal prudence and will play a crucial role in building a prosperous and inclusive India,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
