LG Manoj Sinha extends greetings on International Day of Yoga, calls for healthier lifestyle

Srinagar, June 21,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of International Day of Yoga 2026, emphasizing the importance of adopting yoga as a way of life to combat modern-day health challenges and promote overall well-being.

In his message, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted this year’s International Yoga Day theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” and said that yoga offers a powerful solution to the growing stress, lifestyle disorders, and health concerns faced by people across the world.

“Greetings on International Day of Yoga. This year’s Yoga Day theme is ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’. With rising stress and modern health challenges, Yoga offers a powerful ray of hope. Let’s take a step toward wellness today by participating and committing to a healthier lifestyle,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

He noted that yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a holistic practice that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit. He urged citizens, especially the youth, to incorporate yoga into their daily routines to lead healthier and more balanced lives.

The Lieutenant Governor also lauded the growing awareness and participation in yoga activities across Jammu and Kashmir, saying that the ancient Indian practice has emerged as a global movement for health and harmony.

International Day of Yoga is observed annually on June 21 and is celebrated worldwide through yoga sessions, awareness campaigns, and community participation aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle.
