Srinagar, June 07, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended heartfelt congratulations to the University of Kashmir for achieving the prestigious A++ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), securing an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.68 on a seven-point scale. This milestone places the university among India’s top academic institutions, reinforcing its role as a hub of knowledge and innovation.
In a historic achievement, both the University of Kashmir (CGPA 3.68) and the University of Jammu (CGPA 3.72) from Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory have attained the coveted A++ Grade. LG Sinha described this as a “rare phenomenon” in academic history, highlighting the exceptional feat of two universities from a single Union Territory earning this honor.

The Lieutenant Governor also acknowledged the remarkable achievement in the colleges category, noting that Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, secured an A++ Grade in January 2024. He emphasized that these accomplishments reflect J&K’s commitment to excellence in education and innovation, aligning with the vision of building a Viksit J&K.
