Srinagar, 20 May 2025: In a high-level security review meeting held at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, chaired the Unified Headquarters meeting to assess the current security scenario across the Union Territory. The meeting also focused on the comprehensive security arrangements being put in place for the annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025, scheduled to commence on 3rd July and conclude on 9th August.
The Lieutenant Governor commended the armed forces, J&K Police, and intelligence agencies for their recent success in ‘Operation Sindoor’, which resulted in the neutralisation of multiple terrorists. He praised the precision and coordination involved in the operation, highlighting it as a significant step toward the government’s broader goal of achieving a ‘Terror-Free Jammu and Kashmir’.
During the meeting, LG Sinha emphasized the need for intelligence-led operations and the dismantling of terrorist support networks across the region. He directed all security agencies to maintain high vigilance and coordination to prevent any terror-related activities and ensure the safety of civilians.
In regard to the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra, the Lieutenant Governor reviewed in detail the security preparedness and logistical arrangements. He instructed the senior officials of the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces , J&K Police, and intelligence agencies to take all necessary measures to provide a safe, smooth, and peaceful pilgrimage experience to the yatris.
Key strategies discussed included enhanced surveillance along the yatra routes, deployment of additional security forces, real-time intelligence sharing, and disaster response readiness. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the sanctity and security of the yatra while ensuring public safety across Jammu and Kashmir.
This meeting comes at a critical time as the region continues to focus on strengthening internal security, advancing peace efforts, and facilitating major religious and cultural events without disruptions.
