Srinagar, December 14,2025-Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, earlier, chaired the 84th University Council Meeting of the University of Kashmir at Lok Bhawan, underscoring the administration’s continued focus on strengthening higher education in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting deliberated on key academic, administrative, and developmental issues of the University, with emphasis on improving educational quality, research standards, and institutional governance. Discussions also covered measures to modernise infrastructure and align academic programmes with emerging national and global educational trends.
Addressing the Council, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the critical role of the University of Kashmir in nurturing talent and contributing to the intellectual and socio-economic development of the region. He stressed the need for innovation-driven education, accountability, and excellence in teaching and research.
Senior officials, members of the University Council, and academic leaders were present during the meeting and shared updates on ongoing initiatives and future plans.
