Srinagar, October 7, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has made education, skill development, and entrepreneurship top priorities in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), transforming educational campuses into vibrant hubs of innovation and excellence. Through dedicated implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, enhanced research support, and a range of youth-centric initiatives, the region is empowering its young population to spearhead a brighter, more prosperous future. In recent addresses, LG Sinha has emphasized creating environments in schools and universities that foster creativity, critical thinking, and innovation, moving beyond traditional rote learning to prepare students for global challenges. Key efforts include upgrading infrastructure, promoting STEM education, and integrating digital classrooms and skill-based programs aligned with NEP 2020.
He has directed universities to accelerate NEP adoption, focusing on industry-academia linkages, upskilling for employability, and incubation centers to nurture entrepreneurial talent. Youth-centric programs like Mission YUVA aim to position J&K as an entrepreneurship hub, promoting innovative startups, knowledge-based enterprises, and self-employment opportunities under schemes such as Himayat and livelihood missions. LG Sinha has repeatedly called for the youth to emerge as top-notch entrepreneurs, leveraging J&K’s rapid industrial growth and aligning education with global standards to drive economic prosperity. These initiatives are part of a broader vision to integrate sustainability, research, and cultural values into education, ensuring J&K’s young minds contribute to Viksit Bharat while addressing local needs like vocational training and innovation ecosystems. With ongoing support from the central government, J&K is witnessing a revolution in school and higher education, setting the stage for inclusive growth and leadership in science, technology, and enterprise.
