Kashmir Ahead

LG Manoj Sinha applauds PM Modi, Nitin Gadkari as NH-44 Gets Ramsoo Viaduct, AT-03 tunnel

Jammu, July 1,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for the completion of two major infrastructure projects on National Highway-44 (NH-44)—the 810-metre-long Ramsoo Viaduct in Ramban district and the 3.5-kilometre AT-03 Tunnel connecting Digdole to Panthyal.

Describing the projects as a landmark achievement in strengthening Jammu and Kashmir’s road infrastructure, the Lieutenant Governor said they reflect the Centre’s continued commitment to improving connectivity across the Union Territory.

In a statement, Manoj Sinha thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitin Gadkari for transforming the highway network in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the newly completed viaduct and tunnel will significantly improve travel on the strategic Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

He said the new infrastructure will ensure smooth, safe, and all-weather movement for local residents, tourists, freight vehicles, and security forces while also facilitating the movement of pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.

According to the Lieutenant Governor, the Ramsoo Viaduct and the AT-03 Tunnel will help bypass landslide-prone stretches along NH-44, reducing travel disruptions and enhancing safety, particularly during adverse weather conditions.

The improved connectivity is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless journey for thousands of devotees travelling to the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, which begins on July 3, 2026.

The landmark infrastructure projects are scheduled to be opened for traffic on July 3, 2026, coinciding with the commencement of the annual pilgrimage.
