Katra, December 2,2025 – Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, visited the Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra today to mark his birthday. During his visit, Gupta emphasized the development of winter tourism in the region, noting that despite the limited working days due to harsh climatic conditions, the administration is actively promoting tourism during the winter months.
Gupta also outlined plans to establish Ladakh as a national-level hub for winter sports, aiming to attract both domestic and international tourists. The initiatives include promoting activities such as skiing, ice skating, and other winter games, positioning Ladakh as a key destination for adventure and seasonal tourism in India.
The visit underscores the administration’s focus on boosting the tourism sector and leveraging Ladakh’s unique snow-clad landscapes to develop it as a premier winter sports destination.
