The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated a Hockey Astro Turf and Boxing Hall in Poonch.
During his visit to Poonch, the LG also laid the foundation stone of several projects worth Rs 195 crores to accelerate development of 229 Panchayats of the district. A local from Poonch, Azad Bukhari said, it was nice of the LG to visit Poonch and he requested him to schedule a visit at least once in every four months. He also praised how the LG addressed the issues of people right there. Another local, Mohammad Ansari said, the LG’s visit encourages people and he is coming for the first time after Poonch has become a Union Territory. People in Poonch have been eagerly waiting and would like the issues concerning the public to be brought to his notice. Talks were held with the LG on inauguration of development projects like infrastructure, and the people are happy with it. The LG informed them that people who have issues can meet him without any delegation. The locals thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah and the central government for giving them an honest LG. The people of Poonch admired that the LG visited backward areas where even MLAs do not go, and constructed playground for children and gave the children bats and hockey in their hands.
