Land Rights Bring Joy to J&K Farmers | New Beginning for Landless Families in Pattan, Baramulla Our father and grandfather lived here. But there was no land in their name. It belonged to the forest. Then last year through the Government scheme, registration happened and we got 6 Kanal 12 Marla Land, says farmer Ashraf from Pattan, Baramulla in Jammu & Kashmir. Now we can say that we are the owners of this land. Now we can feed our cattle and ourselves. We are grateful to the government for providing us the land rights. Farmer Ashraf’s daughter from Pattan said, now with the land papers in hand, we can grow maize and vegetables for our cattle and to feed us. Now we are happy that the land belongs to us. Now we can take loan etc on it and we can earn happily. Father Asraf said he was grateful to the Modi Government and the entire administration for granting them the land rights.
