Srinagar, November 5,2025:Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, Festival Director of the Kashmir World Film Festival (KWFF), shared insights about the ongoing fifth edition of the festival being held at Tagore Hall, Srinagar, and the preparations for its grand concluding day.
Khan said the festival has received an overwhelming response from filmmakers, artists, and cinema lovers, reflecting Kashmir’s growing engagement with world cinema and storytelling. “This edition of KWFF celebrates the spirit of creativity and cultural exchange. It brings together filmmakers from across India and abroad, highlighting diverse voices and narratives,” he said.
The five-day event features film screenings, interactive sessions, and panel discussions focusing on regional cinema, youth participation, and the role of film as a medium of social change. Khan emphasised that the festival aims to revive Kashmir’s cinematic culture and provide a platform for local talent to connect with global audiences.
As the festival nears its conclusion, preparations are underway for the closing ceremony, which will feature awards, special recognitions, and cultural performances. Khan expressed gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir administration, Tourism Department, and local partners for their support in making the event a success.
“The Kashmir World Film Festival is not just about cinema—it’s about reclaiming the cultural vibrancy of Kashmir and telling our stories to the world,” Khan said.
