Kupwara, 30 September 2025: The Kupwara Terriers inaugurated the North Kashmir Women’s T-10 Cricket Championship 2025 (Season-V), marking a proud moment for women’s empowerment and the growth of sports culture in the region.
This season witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 240 girls representing 16 teams, showcasing remarkable cricketing talent and determination to break social barriers through sports. The championship is being hailed as a platform that not only promotes gender equality in sports but also nurtures young talent from Kupwara and across North Kashmir.
Organisers emphasised that the tournament is more than just a sporting event—it is a celebration of resilience, inclusivity, and the growing aspirations of young women in Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative is expected to inspire more participation in women’s cricket and contribute to building a stronger sports ecosystem in the valley.
