Kupwara, September 3, 2025 – In a significant step toward empowering unemployed youth in Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, chaired the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) meeting for Mission YUVA (Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan). The committee approved 554 cases for financial assistance, aiming to foster self-employment and entrepreneurship in the district.
The meeting, held on September 2, 2025, focused on reviewing applications under the Mission YUVA scheme, a flagship initiative by the Jammu & Kashmir government to provide financial support and guidance to young entrepreneurs
After thorough scrutiny and discussions among committee members, including representatives from various departments and financial institutions, 554 eligible cases were greenlit for further assistance.
Mission YUVA targets unemployed youth, offering them opportunities to start their own ventures through subsidised loans, skill development, and mentorship programs. The approvals are expected to inject vitality into the local economy by promoting innovative business ideas in sectors like agriculture, handicrafts, tourism, and technology.
Speaking at the event, DC Suse emphasised the scheme’s role in harnessing the potential of Kupwara’s youth. “This initiative is a game-changer for our young population, providing them with the tools to become job creators rather than seekers,” he stated, urging beneficiaries to utilise the support effectively.
He also directed concerned officials to ensure timely disbursement of funds and monitor the progress of approved projects.The DLIC meeting saw participation from key stakeholders, including the Lead District Manager, General Manager of DIC, and officers from employment and banking sectors.
