KULGAM, August 11, 2025 – In a vibrant display of patriotism and unity, a Mega Bike Rally was organised in Kulgam district as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, ahead of India’s 78th Independence Day celebrations. The rally was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), with hundreds of riders proudly carrying the National Flag through the streets, spreading the spirit of national pride.The event, held on August 11, 2025, was organized by the Youth Services and Sports Department, Kulgam, in collaboration with the district administration.
Starting from Laroo Bus Stand and concluding at the Mini Secretariat, the rally saw enthusiastic participation from students, youth, and local residents. Participants waved the Indian Tricolour high, chanting patriotic slogans such as “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Har Ghar Tiranga,” resonating with the campaign’s mission to foster a deep connection with the National Flag.The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, launched under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, encourages citizens to hoist the Tricolour at their homes from August 9 to 15, 2025, to celebrate India’s independence and promote national pride. The Kulgam bike rally, a testament to the campaign’s success, highlighted the region’s commitment to unity and patriotism. The event was marked by festive decorations and an electrifying atmosphere, with riders showcasing the National Flag on their bikes as they passed through key routes in the district.Athar Aamir Khan, the Deputy Commissioner, emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating, “The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is a powerful movement to instill patriotism and honor the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. This rally reflects the unity and enthusiasm of Kulgam’s youth and residents in celebrating our nation’s independence.”
The event also aimed to inspire locals to actively participate in the campaign by hoisting the Tricolour at their homes and sharing selfies on the HGT portal. The Ministry of Culture, which spearheads the campaign, has noted its growing success, with millions across India hoisting the National Flag and participating in activities like Tiranga rallies, concerts, and marathons.
