Kulgam, July 16, 2025: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), chaired a high-level meeting to assess the progress of ongoing AMRUT 2.0 projects in the district. The meeting, held on Wednesday, focused on evaluating the implementation of initiatives under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0, particularly the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal scheme, aimed at providing functional tap water connections to every household.
The review session brought together key officials to discuss project timelines, challenges, and achievements. DC Khan emphasised the importance of ensuring timely completion of water supply projects, urban infrastructure upgrades, and sustainable urban development as outlined under AMRUT 2.0. He directed departments to address bottlenecks, streamline coordination, and adhere to quality standards to achieve the mission’s objectives.AMRUT 2.0, a flagship initiative of the Government of India, focuses on universal water supply, sewerage management, and green urban spaces. In Kulgam, the projects are geared toward enhancing access to clean drinking water and improving urban infrastructure to support the district’s growing needs.

DC Khan reiterated the administration’s commitment to the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal initiative, ensuring that every household in Kulgam benefits from reliable tap water connections. He urged officials to expedite work while maintaining transparency and accountability.
