And it has had an impact in Jammu and Kashmir as well. In the last four to five years, many such activities have taken place due to which the farmers of Jammu and Kashmir have created a new record in productivity in agriculture, horticulture and allied sectors.Be it milk production, vegetables, meat or exotic vegetables, the farmers of Jammu and Kashmir are moving ahead in the direction of complete transformation. I believe these achievements have been possible only due to the united efforts of all stakeholders. Generally, the main crops grown here were maize, wheat, citrus fruits, barley, paddy, and some oils. But due to the efforts and innovative methods adopted in the last four-five years, the hold in agriculture and allied sector has strengthened. Today, in addition to flowers and exotic vegetables, apples, walnuts, litchi and other seasonal fruits are also being grown in the Jammu division. Under the leadership of the respectable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, many such policies have been implemented on the ground due to which the farmer brothers of Jammu and Kashmir have got the opportunity to make their place in the national ranking of top 5 urban farmers. In 2024, 500 farmer brothers were dedicated to Khidmat Ghar. If we talk about women farmers, through the Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Project, 4.69 lakh women have been linked to integrated farming and live top management, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha told in his speech at Krishak Mela 2025.
