The Lieutenant Governor requested that if we all can bring meaningful change in the most deprived sections of the society then we are going to do something bigger and more sacred than worshipping in any temple or worshipping in a mosque, LG stated. In Tral district of Jammu & Kashmir, one such Kisan Mela was organised where the agriculture and horticulture departments came up with schemes which were beneficial to us, said farmers in Tral. The schemes will benefit 6.6 lakh farmers and generate employment for 15, 700 people. This direct interaction programme with farmers is making farmers more aware of the schemes and the benefits therein. Farmers are getting aware of Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund and Integrated Poultry Development Programme for establishing a Commercial Broiler Farm where the incentive is Rs 100 per day old chick, among others.
