Khelo India Winter Games 2024 | J&K LG Expresses Confidence in Memorable Sporting Festival Gulmarg The Government of India, Jammu and Kashmir Administration and all the officials of Ladakh are the main force of Khelo India Winter Games 2024 for the launch of its logo and mascot. For 4th Khelo India Winter Games 2024, I congratulate all the officials associated with the Winter Games, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha. Some of the events of this year’s Khelo India Winter Games 2024 like snow skating and ice hockey will be held in Ladakh. Rest of the disciplines will be held as per schedule in Gulmarg from February 21, 2024, LG said. Jammu Kashmir and Winter Games have become synonymous, LG said. And not only in Jammu and Kashmir, but also in the country, a perception has developed that Winter Games means Jammu and Kashmir. The full commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir administration has been that the administration should work with full dedication in organising the Winter Games. And I am happy to tell you that since the winter games have started, this is the fourth edition of the winter games here and this is my fourth year as well, shared LG. Personally, I am also very attached to it. And on behalf of the Jammu and Kashmir administration, I want to assure that the Jammu and Kashmir administration will ensure all kinds of arrangements. Arrangements have been made as to how the work will be done by holding meetings with officials of various departments. I have personally witnessed the last three events and have been present all three times. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have done this very well. In the last three-four years, a new type of enthusiasm and atmosphere has been created in the field of sports in Jammu and Kashmir, where three-four lakh people used to participate, today sixty-five lakh people are participating, LG stated. Our sports department and sports council have worked very hard. In the last seven-eight years, a new type of thinking has arisen regarding sports in the entire country. With new energy, our youth are making India proud not only in the country but also in other international forums. Jammu and Kashmir is also trying in that direction. The Snow Leopard, the mascot of the Winter Games 2024, represents the life energy and vibrant heritage of the Himalayas. It also demonstrates the commitment of the Government of India towards its conservation. Jammu & Kashmir celebrates Winter Games as a festival. And I want to assure once again that with the hard work of the Jammu and Kashmir administration, we will leave no stone unturned in extending hospitality to the people who come from different parts of the country. I am confident that Ladakh and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will prove to be a memorable sporting festival, LG said. The Lt Governor Manoj Sinha extended his best wishes to all the players and all the colleagues associated with the event. He also expressed his gratitude to the Sports Ministry of the Government of India for having expressed their confidence in Jammu and Kashmir.
