KATHUA, NOVEMBER 01,2025: To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the district administration Kathua organized a Unity Pad Yatra on Friday, celebrating the Iron Man’s contribution to national integration and unity.
The event was flagged off by DDC Chairman Kathua Col (Retd.) Mahan Singh and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas, who jointly led the rally from DC Office Complex to the Sports Stadium. Students, government officials, police personnel, and members of civil society actively participated, carrying placards promoting Ekta (unity), Integrity, and Nation-Building.
Addressing the participants, the DDC Chairman highlighted Sardar Patel’s pivotal role in unifying India and emphasized the need to strengthen national unity and communal harmony. “The youth must carry forward Patel’s vision of a strong, united India,” he said.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged citizens to reaffirm their commitment to peace, brotherhood, and inclusive growth in line with the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The Pad Yatra concluded with the participants taking the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge, reinforcing the spirit of unity, patriotism, and social cohesion.
