Srinagar, October 14,2025:The traditional Kashmiri Rouf, one of the most graceful and symbolic folk dances of Kashmir, was performed by Kashmiri Pandits, celebrating the Valley’s timeless cultural heritage and communal harmony.
Deeply rooted in ancient agricultural rituals and harvest festivals, Rouf is performed to mark the arrival of spring and other joyous occasions. The dance is known for its gentle rhythm, coordinated footwork, and harmonious movements that reflect unity, renewal, and vitality.
The graceful steps of Rouf are said to be inspired by the movements of bees approaching and retreating from flower buds, symbolising the natural cycle of life and fertility. The performance captivated audiences, reminding them of Kashmir’s rich artistic traditions and the enduring bond between its people and their land.
