Srinagar , December 1,2025— The Kashmir Valley continues to reel under freezing nights and frosty mornings as temperatures dip sharply across the region. The cold wave has intensified, leading to the formation of frost on rooftops, vehicles, and open fields.
In Srinagar, a thick layer of dense fog settled over the iconic Dal Lake, reducing visibility during early morning hours. Similar conditions were reported around other waterbodies in the Valley, creating both a picturesque yet challenging start to the day.
The persistent drop in temperatures has led to colder-than-usual mornings, with residents relying on traditional heating methods such as kangris and indoor heating appliances to battle the chill.
Meteorological officials attribute the severe cold to clear night skies and stagnant weather patterns, conditions that typically strengthen the Valley’s winter chill. The cold wave is expected to continue, with frost formation likely in the coming days.
