Srinagar, November 1,2025: The much-awaited Kashmir World Film Festival (KWFF) is set to take place in Srinagar from November 1 to 7, celebrating the art of cinema and bringing together filmmakers, artists, and audiences from across India and abroad.
Organised by the Actors Creative Theatre (ACT), the 8th edition of the Kashmir World Film Festival will feature a rich lineup of national and international films, panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions with renowned filmmakers. The event aims to promote cinematic culture in Kashmir and provide a platform for young and emerging filmmakers to showcase their talent.
Festival Director Mussadiq Malik said the KWFF has become a key cultural event in the Valley, symbolising the region’s growing engagement with world cinema. “The festival is not just about films but about storytelling, creativity, and cultural dialogue. It provides Kashmir’s youth an opportunity to connect with global cinematic trends,” he added.
This year’s edition will feature feature films, documentaries, and short films from multiple countries, with special screenings highlighting Kashmiri cinema and regional filmmakers. Various masterclasses on film direction, cinematography, and screenplay writing will also be conducted by industry experts.
The festival, supported by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department and Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), seeks to position Srinagar as a creative hub for cultural and artistic exchange.
Film enthusiasts and students from various institutions are expected to attend the screenings and events held at Tagore Hall Srinagar, the main venue of the festival.
