Srinagar ,October 24,2025: The Gen Bipin Rawat Memorial Kashmir Women’s Premier League is all set to commence on October 25, marking a significant milestone in promoting women empowerment and sports development in the Kashmir Valley. The league provides a vibrant platform for women athletes to showcase their talent, fostering confidence and recognition in the field of women’s cricket.
Organised in memory of General Bipin Rawat, India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, the league aims to honour his vision of nation-building through youth engagement and sports promotion. The tournament features teams from across Jammu and Kashmir, giving young women cricketers an opportunity to compete at a professional level.
Officials from the Indian Army and the J&K Sports Council emphasised that the league is a key initiative in encouraging gender equality and creating avenues for women to excel in sports. The matches, scheduled at prominent venues across the Valley, will highlight emerging talent and inspire more women to take up cricket and other competitive sports.
The league also aims to build a culture of healthy competition, teamwork, and leadership skills among women, contributing to the overall social and cultural development of Jammu and Kashmir.
